DJ Raddi first hit the turntables and samplers back in 2003 when he DJ’ed at a friend’s 21st, a gig that gave him such a rush that he decided to make it his life’s passion! Fast forward 12 years and he is firmly entrenched in Sydney’s DJ scene.
An accomplished pianist/keyboardist, music was always a key ingredient to DJ Raddi’s life whilst growing up. Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire and Chic were firm favourites – classic disco sounds that were the seed of modern dance house music. As his DJ’ing career progressed, he began to appreciate the urban beats of hip-hop and became a fan of Timbaland, Dr Dre, Swizz Beatz and 40, which he now incorporates into his routines. DJ Raddi also has a soft spot for Indian film composers such as Illaiyaraaja and A.R. Rahman, whose long careers in the music industry he aspires to, and hopes to emulate.
DJ Raddi also has an intuitive side where he likes to break boundaries, experiment with vibes and create innovative soundscapes. To him, DJing isn’t just about spinning vinyl, it’s an art form that is simultaneously impulsive, sublime and uplifting.
Though DJ Raddi is drawn to the limelight, he also has a charitable side where he has helped raise funds at charity events for various NGO’s including Palmera, Aus Med Aid Foundation, and the International Red Cross.
